In Touch with the Heart of God – Luke 2:21-38

December 20, 2020
Teacher: Gary Nock
Scripture: Luke 2:21-38

Simeon’s Nunc Dimittis

The title of this song is formed from the opening words in the Latin Vulgate, “Nunc dimittis servum tuum, Domine”  meaning “Now thou dost dismiss thy servant, O Lord”

A baby who saves? Simeon & Anna lived in anticipation that God would send the Messiah in their day. Today we look back to the fulfillment of that anticipation and yet with the passing of years we can be distracted and jaded to the power of the baby who came to save.

This Christmas holiday as we celebrate the First Advent of Jesus the Christ we too can be in touch with the heart of God when we have an attitude of expectancy, dependency, exaltation, and proclamation.
