Chapter 7 of Joshua is not a happy chapter, but it does show us the importance of what God thinks about the consequences of sin. The chapter comes after the victory of Jericho. In that victory, the Israelites walked together as a people with God at their side.

But then in chapter 7 we see how hidden sin brings destruction and loss. Similarly, what happens to us when we try to walk the Christian life alone?
