The Great Commandment- 1 John 4:7-21

Matthew 22:34-39, Mark 12:28-34, Luke 10:25-37

Jesus gives us the great commission (Matthew 28:18-20) and the great commandment (Matthew 22:37-39). He charges us with going to make disciples, but also to love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul, and mind and to love our neighbor as ourselves. This call to love is serious. Love is the core of the Christian message, the foundation.  It is what motivates Christ’s death on the cross.  So with that, how are we called to carry out God’s great commission and commandment?
