Living in His-Story – Psalm 105

March 14, 2021
Teacher: Mark Bassett
Scripture: Genesis 1, 45, 50; Psalm 105; Romans 8:28

Join Pastor Mark Bassett of Our Redeemer Presbyterian Church as he invites you to hear a message he preaches directly into the lives of Pastor Gary and his wife, Dawn along with their daughters, Lacey and Angela, during this specific season of their lives. You are invited to join in hearing this message because you too are part of this story. A part of not only Gary and Dawn’s story, but also His story, God’s story.

This is a hard time for everyone who cares for Pastor Gary. Pastor Gary is hurting, Dawn is hurting and you too are hurting. Many are questioning, why? But during this time Pastor Mark doesn’t wish to bring you a message that is trite or harmful with offerings of what the possible why could be. Rather he hopes to bring these passages into an encouraging whole. He wishes to speak to your heart, rather than to the intellectual problem of pain.

C.S. Lewis wrote on the intellectual issue of suffering in his book, The Problem Of Pain. In the preface he said “. . . the only purpose of the book is to solve the intellectual problem raised by suffering; for the far higher task of teaching fortitude and patience I was never fool enough to suppose myself qualified, nor have I anything to offer my readers except my conviction that when pain is to be borne, a little courage helps more than much knowledge, a little human sympathy more than much courage, and the least tincture of the love of God more than all.”

So join Pastor Mark as he looks rather at the question of why now and offers an encouragement for all of us to consider during this time.
